Family Session

I loved my time with Nate, Courtney and their kids last summer, so I was thrilled when they inquired about extended family photos! Nate’s parents and sister were in from out of town, so we got everyone together in Old Town for a fun morning. With six kids, there was no shortage of energy… and honestly, that’s what I loved most!

The boys went on adventures. The girls danced, twirled, and picked flowers. Littles flew in the air. And a couple of the wildest ones gave repeated tackle hugs to their dad/uncle/grandpa! This kind of energy and activity are what make extended family sessions so much fun. Of course there are the staple shots we have to get, but my favorites of the day are always the candid ones. The ones of families playing together and just enjoying each other.

If you’re looking to do a session with your whole crew in Alexandria, I highly recommend Founders Park on a weekday morning. Other than some walkers and runners utilizing the riverside trail, the park is pretty quiet. There are rocks to climb on and a plethora of sticks to throw into the water. Plus, there’s free street parking that’s usually open in the morning! It’s a great spot for families and has so much potential for beautiful portraits.

My time in Virginia is coming to end, but I’m now booking sessions in Dayton, OH! If you’re interested in an extended family session in the coming months, please reach out to me. I would love to talk through the details and get a date on our calendars!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

more about me

I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!

Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.

I'M ERIN.
