Some sessions come together so quickly it feels like magic. This was one of them! When Maryclare reached out about scheduling Dayton extended family photos, we worked fast to make it happen and I’m so glad we did. With everyone together and two new little ones in the mix, it was the perfect time to document this season for the Schardt family.
From the start, our time together just clicked. We discovered that Maryclare and I actually went to the same high school (still freaking out about this) and that Renee and I share a mutual friend from college. The connections kept coming, and it instantly felt like photographing old friends instead of new ones.
The grandparents were so clearly overjoyed to have everyone together and the babies kept us all smiling as we worked to coax out grins from Ellie and keep the leaves out of Luca’s mouth! Plus, the light in their yard was absolutely dreamy, wrapping everything in that perfect golden glow photographers live for. It was one of those evenings that just felt easy and full of laughter and love.
To the Schardt family, thank you for trusting me to capture these memories. Sessions like yours remind me why I love what I do – real moments, real connection, and a little chaos in the best possible way!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!
I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!
Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.
I'M ERIN.
