Most of my sessions are family photos and military events, but there’s something about senior sessions that hits differently for me. Before photography was my full-time job, I was a high school math teacher, and every senior session reminds me why I love that age. Honestly, if I could go back to high school, I would in a heartbeat… I loved it that much. So when Bailey’s dad mentioned she was looking for Colorado Springs senior photos, I couldn’t wait to meet her.

Colorado summer afternoons come with a bit of unpredictability, and Bailey’s session day was no exception. A wild thunderstorm rolled through right before we were set to meet, and for a while I genuinely wasn’t sure if we’d be able to shoot at all. Thankfully, the storm cleared just in time, and while we didn’t end up with the golden sunshine we’d hoped for, Monument Rock still delivered that gorgeous, unmistakably Colorado backdrop. From layered mountains to beautiful skies, we had it all.

Bailey is an avid reader, so she brought along a stack of her favorite books to incorporate into her photos. It was such a fun detail to play with and it made the session feel personalized to her. I have a feeling her reading list is only going to keep growing from here!
