It may be almost December, but fall is still hanging on here in Albuquerque! I had the pleasure of working with the Sterling Family last weekend and am so glad we decided on a location in the Bosque. There was still quite a bit of color on the trees and crunchy leaves covered the ground. We enjoyed a beautiful evening at Coors Bosque Trail and soaked up the soft light as it came through the trees.
With baby Porter’s first Christmas coming up, it was the perfect opportunity for family photos! Peyton had her dressed in an adorable plaid dress which coordinated perfectly with her parents’ outfits. We started with some photos of the whole family and Porter made me pull out all the tricks. I tried talking to her. We all made silly noises. My little sidekick (aka daughter) shook her rattle. Mom and Dad tried bouncing her. But, despite our best efforts, she started off pretty serious and we captured a lot of very intrigued looks on her face! As time went on though, she definitely warmed up. She loved snuggling with her parents individually, which resulted in some of my favorite shots of the whole night. Laying on the Christmas blanket was pretty fun too!
In addition to pictures with kiddos, I always love capturing just the parents too. Since Porter was too little to hang out by herself, she got to walk around with my husband and “help” second shoot! Our own kids are out of the baby stage now, but we’re still used to holding a kid and a camera at the same time. Porter did great with Matt and even made her parents giggle during their last pose.
Pierce and Peyton are wonderful parents to Porter and I hope they have a very special first Christmas as a family of three. If you’re still looking for holiday photos, let me know! It’s not too late to reach out and schedule a session. Whether it’s at Coors Bosque Trail or somewhere in the foothills, I’d love to help you capture some holiday memories.

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!
I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!
Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.
I'M ERIN.
