Great question! I like to start making changes about 4 months before our PCS, but of course I realize this is the military and last-minute orders aren't all that uncommon.
The timeline I've outlined is designed to get you up and running quickly in an ideal situation, but this doesn't all go out the window if you end up with last-minute orders.
So, if you find yourself working with a shorter timeline or maybe you already moved and you're just finding this resource, don't worry. The tasks that need to be completed don't change. The due dates can be adjusted to fit your situation.
