I’m so excited to tell you about our Huey family mini sessions, but before I do, we need to back up a little bit. I’ve been an Air Force wife since 2014 and started truly getting into photography at our first assignment in Montana. (More on that here!) I loved capturing landscapes in Big Sky Country before we had kids and enjoyed learning all I could about my camera. Right before Christmas 2015, our squadron was looking for a volunteer to take Huey family photos for holiday cards. I had a “nice” camera. I enjoyed photography. So why not? I volunteered… and just for fun, I dug out my favorites from back then to share.
Yikes. I don’t really have words other than, we all start somewhere? Thankfully no one paid me for these!
After 7.5 years of additional practice, I was thrilled (and way more confident!) to offer flight line photos for the 1st Helicopter Squadron. Over the last few weekends, I served 21 aircrew families and created some beautiful portraits to highlight their time in DC. Couples, baby announcement, maternity, newborn, families – we did it all! Plus, we were able to donate over $500 to the squadron booster club for future events. I’m so grateful to everyone who participated and helped make this donation possible.
This was truly a business bucket list experience for me. Sure, I’m biased, but the Huey community is a special one. It has brought us some of our closest friends and it was an honor to capture memories for these families with our favorite aircraft. I sure hope it’s not the last time I get to do so.
If you’re a military family looking for flight line photos or military event coverage, please let me know. I would be honored to serve your family and create photos that you’ll treasure for years to come.

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!
I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!
Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.
I'M ERIN.
