A Christmas Newborn Session | The Freund Family

Lifestyle Newborn

To know the Freunds is to love them. I met this crew back in April on the first day of our Huey squadron mini sessions. Their big smiles were contagious. Max and Lou brought the best energy. We had so much fun and I literally couldn’t take a bad photo of them. Seriously. I delivered 47 images of their fam from one 15-minute session! (That’s most certainly a record.) We hit it off and the rest, as they say, is history. From coffee dates to squadron events, and park trips with the kids to my Christmas tree farm mini sessions, these friends have become some of “our people” at this assignment and I couldn’t be more grateful. With this in mind, you can imagine my excitement when Amanda shared she was pregnant and wanted to schedule a Christmas newborn session with me. Does it get any better than that!? I don’t think it does!

Virginia Christmas Newborn Session

Regardless of how excited I was for this session, the Freund kiddos had other plans. Bode was born just a few days before Thanksgiving, so we originally scheduled this session for the following week. Unfortunately, Max woke up that morning with a fever, so we moved it a few days later. No big deal… until Bode was hospitalized with RSV! After nearly two weeks in the hospital, he was finally able to come home. As tough as those days were on their whole family, I could tell just how grateful they were to finally be all together when I arrived at their home.

Now let’s be clear. Having three kids under four is no walk in the park. In fact, I can imagine that it feels like a circus sometimes! But Steven and Amanda are already pros at embracing the chaos. Lou is trying to smother Bode in kisses? Great, just be gentle. Max is bouncing off the walls? Awesome, Dad is ready to join. Coffee is no longer hot? No problem, that’s what microwaves are for! Steven and Amanda make a wonderful team and their kiddos have no idea how lucky they are. It was such an honor for me to capture them in their element and create cheerful holiday portraits as a lasting reminder of this season.

To Steven and Amanda, thank you so, so much for both your friendship and for cheering me on in my business adventure. I’m grateful to have you guys in our corner and look forward to lots more fun together while we’re both in DC.

While it doesn’t get any better than a Christmas newborn session, I am booking regular lifestyle newborn sessions too. Please reach out if you’re interested in having me capture beautiful memories for your family too!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

more about me

I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!

Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.

I'M ERIN.
