The Seiler family spent the last six winters in Montana and North Dakota, where you can’t go outside without your face hurting. Sure, the snow is beautiful, but it’s just so darn cold! Because of this, the adjustment to Albuquerque winter has been a pleasant one. They never dreamed of having snowy photos since their boys were born, but that changed this year. I was so excited when Darcy reached out about a snowy maternity session and am even more thrilled with how their photos turned out.
Truth be told, Darcy was hesitant about getting maternity photos done. She spends her days chasing after two rambunctious little boys and I can only imagine how exhausted she must feel. She admitted that she hasn’t felt particularly glowy or beautiful this pregnancy either. As someone who has been through pregnancy twice, I certainly understand that! All that said, I’m SO glad that she decided to go through with a shoot… even if the reasoning was because #momguilt. I think we can all agree on how absolutely stunning she looks.
We originally planned this snowy maternity shoot for the second weekend in February, but with all the snow we got during the first few days of the month, we made a last minute change of plans. Since our kids are friends, we packed everyone up, threw all the snow gear into our cars and headed to the east side of the mountains. Micah and Elliot did a great job following directions and not jumping in the snow before their pictures. Micah was particularly cold though, so we worked quickly and then got the boys all bundled up to play. While they played, I was able to capture some shots of just Darcy, as well as some with her husband, Cody, too. Despite some kid chaos, we enjoyed a beautiful and brisk winter day in the snow.
I’m so happy that we did this fun snowy shoot and can’t wait to capture this sweet family again once their new little one arrives. If you’d like to get a snowy shoot on the calendar, please reach out to me. I’d love to capture this season for your family too!
These boys are going to be such sweet big brothers!
The light, the glow, the falling snow… perfection! 😍
Saving two of my favorites for last!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!
I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!
Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.
I'M ERIN.
