Rachel reached out to me shortly after the Seiler’s lifestyle newborn session. She loved their photos and was hoping I’d be available to capture something similar for the baby girl she had on the way. Her due date was still a few months away, but I knew the timing was going to work out perfectly with our upcoming move. Baby girl was scheduled to make her debut at the end of June, so we put a tentative date on our calendars for lifestyle newborn photos.
The Benner’s Lifestyle Newborn Photos
I knew from the start that the Benner family was going to be a joy to work with. Rachel was incredibly organized and I could tell from our session prep how much she cared about her photos. We chatted through all sorts of things… locations in her house, outfit choices, and even what to do if she had a reluctant toddler. By the time the day of the session came, we were as prepared as we could be!
Rachel snagged a vintage pink sofa for their parlor and we were thrilled to use it as a centerpiece for photos. We got lots of combinations here, including Keiran playing with his stuffed animals. He even shared a few with his new baby sister! Peter Rabbit and Flopsy Bunny were the favorites. After this set, Keiran was ready for some alone time with his dad, so I moved to the nursery with Rachel to get some more shots of baby Audrey.
Audrey was awake and happy for awhile, but started to fade when we moved to the nursery. This gave me the chance to swaddle her and get some sleepy pictures in her crib. It took her a few minutes to actually fall asleep, but we were patient. I think she liked the sound of my shutter as that kept getting her attention. (All the more reason to keep shooting away!) Once she did fall asleep, we got some of my favorite shots of the day.
Rachel and Eric, thank you so much for letting me be part of this special season. It was an honor to capture some of your first days as a family of four. If you’re like Rachel and want me to capture lifestyle newborn photos for you too, please reach out! I would love to serve your family.
