Alexandria Family Photos | Founders Park | The LaRue Family

Family Session

I’m so excited to share another fall family session! Unfortunately, the rain that Hurricane Ian brought forced us to postpone the LaRue’s initial date. However, it may have been a blessing in disguise. We met a few days later at Founders Park and it couldn’t have been better. The sun was warm. The air was brisk. The water was calm. The leaves were starting to change. It was the perfect fall evening for Alexandria family photos!

Alexandria Family Photos at Founders Park

Erica did a wonderful job choosing outfits for her family. Her big girls, Mia and Lilah, had matching gold dresses, while baby Zoey wore a coordinating gold shirt and patterned romper. Erica and Joey rounded things out with green, brown, and tan. Their color palette was perfect for the changing trees at Founders Park.

When we arrived at the park, it didn’t take me long to notice that Mia and Lilah were going to want to play. They did great for a couple family pictures to start, but when I asked them if I could take individual shots of each of them, they weren’t too thrilled. Mia stood still and gave me a forced smile, at which point I knew it was time for a game. Their mom came prepared with bribes, so we pulled some out of the diaper bag. I told the girls they had to stand a few yards away from me and could run to me on the count of three. Erica stood behind me with their treats and I captured the cutest, most genuine smiles as they ran toward their mom.

After some running shots, we walked down to the edge of the water and let the girls play on the rocks. They climbed on the big rocks, looked at some ducks, and tossed some little rocks into the water. It was a great way to capture more candid moments and wrap up our time together.

I’m so happy to be back in the full swing of things and am gearing up for a busy fall of family and newborn sessions. If you’re interested in having me capture some Alexandria family photos for you, please reach out soon. I’d love to preserve this time for your family.

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

more about me

I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!

Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.

I'M ERIN.
