There are two compliments that I get from clients that will never get old. (1) Hiring me to document your family season after season. (2) Referring me to your friends. This particular session was a result of the second. Huge shoutout to Erin Lai Wheeler who sent the Walsh family my way. Not only was it an honor to serve another military family, but we had the best time together at this Old Town photography session!
Old Town Photography at Shipyard Park
Given the heat that’s been rolling through DC, we opted for an early morning session. While I’m still glad we did, it didn’t make the session cool by any stretch. In fact, it was already close to 90 degrees by the time we wrapped up around 9:00 AM! Katherine, Michael, and Juliette didn’t care though. They came ready to have fun and we did just that.
We kicked off the session on the trail that cuts through the park. The townhouse backdrop just screams Old Town to me, so I knew I wanted to include it in their photos. After a few shots there, we made our way toward the water. Katherine recreated a picture of her dad holding her from when she was little. Michael joked around and gave me his best cool-kid smirk. Juliette enjoyed watching the ducks in the river. And Mom and Dad just rolled with the punches and soaked in the time with their kids.
The Walsh fam has such a fun dynamic. I loved spending the morning with them and am thrilled they will have these photos to cherish for many years to come. If you are interested in the same, please reach out to me and we’ll make plans for some Old Town photography!
