This session was a long time coming, but well worth the wait! Jessica reached out months before her session to share her vision and we worked hard to make it happen. She hoped to capture the Old Town Alexandria vibe, as well as some beautiful greenery, which made Founders Park an excellent choice. It was the perfect setting for some Alexandria maternity photos!

Alexandria Maternity Photos

We first planned to meet on a Friday at the end of July, but had to postpone for my last-minute travel plans for my grandma’s funeral. I’m so thankful for how gracious Jessica was and was thrilled we both had the flexibility to reschedule. However, the heat index on the date we rescheduled for was 110 degrees, which is WAY too hot for anyone to be outside in my opinion, but especially an expectant mama. So, once again, we rescheduled. We met two days later and it turned out to be the perfect day!

When we arrived, Founders Park was filled with people who were happy to be outside in the cooler temperatures. Jessica, Jose and Jannah came dressed beautifully and ready to go. We started near the river, using the reflection off the water to get beautiful light on their faces. This combined with the glowy sunlight coming through the trees made for some stunning portraits! With the help of her aunt providing Cocomelon songs and goldfish, Jannah gave us the sweetest smiles. I can’t wait to see what a great big sister she’s going to be!

We had so much fun with this sweet family and I’m thrilled that they’ll have these photos to serve as a reminder of this season for many years to come.
