It’s true what they say, time sure flies! From capturing Rachel’s newborn sweetness last December to the bloom of cherry blossoms in spring, I found myself back with the Jackson family to celebrate Rachel’s first birthday. This time, we ventured to Jones Point Park for a chilly yet heartwarming morning of family photos and an Alexandria cake smash session.
The morning of our session was a breezy one, so I aimed to work swiftly to keep little Rachel cozy. That combined with yogurt drops, daddy tosses, and mama snuggles led to some beautiful portraits. After we got the classic family shots, we transitioned to birthday mode. Enter balloons, a birthday hat, a tutu, cake, … and a flamingo, of course! (If you were around for her newborn session, you know this is a must!)
Now, the cake smash was no ordinary affair. Rachel’s grandma baked a special cake just for her, adding a touch of homemade love to the celebration. Despite the cold, Rachel indulged us with some cake-eating magic, and oh, did she love it! The sweet frosting was just enough distraction from the cool air and allowed me to capture some adorable birthday memories.
Being invited to capture milestones again and again for a family is the best part of this job. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to do this for the Jacksons and would love to do this for your fam too! If you’re looking for someone to capture this current season, I’m here and excited to help. Reach out, and let’s chat about the details. I can’t wait to see what fun we can create together!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!
I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!
Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.
I'M ERIN.
