If two newborn sessions in one week doesn’t make for a good week then I don’t know what does! After spending a morning with the Kennedy family, I had the opportunity to document the Jackson family’s first few days as a party of three. Their sweet baby Rachel was about a week old and as happy as can be. She may have slept through her Alexandria lifestyle newborn session, but I think that’s a sign she’s going to be a trooper for many photo sessions to come!

When booking her session, Katie let me know that Rachel would have a flamingo-themed nursery. I was so excited to see it and it did not disappoint! With pink walls and white furniture, the room was cute and inviting. There were so many little details, as well as stories behind the flamingos. One was a gift from family. Another they purchased on their babymoon in Iceland. Yet another was handmade by a friend. I even spotted a pair of flamingo sunglasses on her shelf! Those are going to make for an adorable picture in a few months. 😉

In addition to capturing the nursery details, I loved documenting sweet little moments of Rachel with her parents. Forehead kisses from Mom. Snuggles on Dad’s chest. Her five little fingers wrapped around one of Mom’s. These are the things that change so fast that I always try to capture on camera. When Rachel grows into a rambunctious toddler and beyond, her parents will always have these photos to remind them of their early days together. I’m feeling sentimental just thinking about it!
