Arlington Newborn Photos | The McCartan Family

Lifestyle Newborn

I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again. I love working with military families. And my time with the McCartans was no exception! In just the first few minutes after meeting them for their Arlington newborn photos, we realized that we were both stationed in Albuquerque at the same time. We only lived a couple miles from each other and even shopped at the same grocery store! On top of that, Morgan and I are both teachers, and it sounds like there’s potential for our next assignments to line up too! These kind of connections make my heart so happy – I love it when the Air Force feels small!

An Arlington Newborn Photo Session

After a few minutes of reminiscing about our favorite Albuquerque things, we got started with pictures. Little Eloise was so excited for her photo debut that she didn’t want to go to sleep! (At least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😉) I honestly love when this happens though because then we have the opportunity for some wide-eyed baby shots. One of my favorites from the whole session is a wide-awake Eloise resting against Chris’s chest. There’s something just so sweet about seeing those big eyes!

In addition to lots of pictures with her mom and dad, I was excited to capture a few shots of Eloise with her grandparents too! I know from personal experience how helpful it is to have grandparent support in those early days and I could tell just how grateful Morgan and Chris were to have Morgan’s parents there. Plus, with Eloise being the first grandchild in the family, everyone was just smitten! I hope these photos always serve as a reminder of these beautiful early days, despite how exhausting they feel.

If you’re expecting a new little one and would like to schedule a lifestyle newborn session, please reach out to me. I would love to capture some early memories for your family too!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

more about me

I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!

Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.

I'M ERIN.
