Ohio Newborn Photography | The Williams Family

Lifestyle Newborn

It’s 2005. Mary and I are sitting in our seventh-grade classroom, listening to a lecture from our teacher. Some drama had been stirring in our grade, prompting him to tell us that middle school friendships don’t last after graduation. But having already been friends for almost a decade at that point, Mary and I were determined to prove him wrong. Now, 20 years later 🤯, I think this Ohio newborn photography session is the perfect proof that we did!

Despite going to different high schools, Mary and I were inseparable, so much so that we earned the nickname “Marin” as freshmen because we were always together. The end of high school marked the end of living near each other though, as we went off to different cities for college and beyond. Between my moves with the military and hers for medical training, it would have been easy for our friendship to fizzle out. But instead, we stayed connected through ice cream dates and breakfast meetups whenever we were home at the same time. And now, the effort of a long-distance friendship has paid off, as we have a short 18-month window of living just an hour apart… right as Mary becomes a mom.

An Ohio Newborn Photography Session

To say I was excited when Mary asked me to take their newborn photos would be an understatement. I always love newborn sessions, but it hits different when it’s for a lifelong friend. Mary and Jacob were absolutely smitten with baby Colette and their love for her filled every moment of our session. Additionally, their pup, Archie, was so gentle and careful around his new little sister – even as he took her bow off her head! I have a feeling those two will become good buddies in the years to come.

To Mary and Jacob, thank you for trusting me to document this season for you. It means the world to have friends who support my business and it was an honor to capture such an important milestone for such dear friends. Cheers to this next chapter… and to proving Mr. Garey wrong!

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

more about me

I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!

Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.

I'M ERIN.
