When Kelly first reached out, I knew right away we’d be a great fit. She mentioned that both she and her husband, Dave, work at Wright-Patterson AFB, and that they wanted to support a military spouse-run business. I’m always so grateful when I hear that, as it makes the connection that much more meaningful before we even meet in person. And in this case, it was just the start of the connections we’d discover once we arrived at Cox Arboretum!
Before their session, Kelly and I worked together to plan their wardrobe, and everything came together beautifully. Her orange dress added the perfect touch of fall, even though the leaves at Cox Arboretum were still mostly green. That, plus Theo’s little jacket, pulled the whole palette together. The combination of color, texture, and light gave their photos that timeless fall feel I always hope for this time of year.
In true “the Air Force is small” fashion, we quickly discovered when we arrived that Kelly and Dave both graduated from the same college my husband did… and in the same year! I was literally at their college graduation!! 🤯 They didn’t know Matt back then, but it was such a fun full-circle moment and another reminder of how connected this community really is.
It’s always such an honor to work with fellow military families and to connect through this little world we share. Sessions like this make me even more grateful for our time in Dayton and the wonderful people I’ve met here. Thank you for trusting me to document this season for you, Riegleman fam – so grateful for you all! 🤍

I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU!
I've been navigating military life with my family since 2008. In that time, I went from a full-time classroom teacher to an online course designer to a photographer. Actually, I still teach a little math on the side because I just love it too much!
Through it all, I've discovered how passionate I am about connecting with military families. Whether it's taking photos at a retirement ceremony, coaching a fellow milspouse photographer, or just grabbing coffee with a new squadron friend, I love this community. And as a teacher at heart, I'm excited to use this space to share what I've learned about business and life with you.
I'M ERIN.
